Southwest is the striking Indo-Moghul Catholic church of Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni. Jogjakarta/Yogyakarta (often called “Jogja”) is one of the foremost cultural centres of Java. This region is located at the foot of the active Merapi volcano, Jogja was in the 16th and 17th centuries the seat of the mighty Javanese empire of Mataram from which present day Jogja has the best inherited of traditions. Jogja has more than just culture though. It is a very lively city and a shopper’s delight. The main road, Malioboro Street, is always crowded and famous for its night street food-culture and street vendors. The city itself has a special charm, which seldom fails to captivate the visitor. Bali, the famed Island of the Gods, with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, lush rice terraces, and barren volcanic hillsides all providing a picturesque backdrop to its colorful, deeply spiritual, and unique culture stakes a serious claim to be paradise on earth. Beyond stunning beaches and magical temples, Bali has virtually every kind of natural beauty.
